Lighthouse Palagruza was built in 1875 on the largest island in small Palagruza archipelago, in the open sea, halfway between Italy and Croatia. The lighthouse is placed 68 NM south of Split and 26 NM south of the island of Lastovo. The island itself is 1400 m long, 300 m wide and 90 m high, thanks to its location it is a nature reserve of importance for flora and fauna, also archaeological finds witness this once was Diomedes' island (a Greek hero).
Return transfer with a speedboat (organized from port of town Korcula) takes approx. 3 hours in one direction.
There are two apartments (each suitable for 4 persons) in the spacious lighthouse building - apartment A1 has a surface of approx. 50 m2 and features one double room (12 m2), living room (14 m2) with two sofas where two additional persons can be accommodated, kitchen (13 m2) and a bathroom with shower (3,5 m2). Second apartment A2 has surface of around 48 m2) and consists of two double rooms (17 m2 and 10 m2), kitchen (13 m2) and a bathroom with shower (3,5 m2). Lighthouse keeper has his own quarters. If you would like to take a dip into the sea, there are 2 beaches on the island.
Guests provide their own meals.
